Penang Gerakan has lambasted Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for being unprincipled, and inconsistent in his stand.
Penang Gerakan assistant secretary Goh Kheng Sneah said when Singapore Mentor Minister Lee Kuan Yew came to Penang in June, Lim had compared Penang and Singapore in terms of development.
“But when we said that under the Barisan Nasional-led government, Penang traditional competed with Singapore for investments in the manufacturing sector, Lim said Gerakan was living in a different planet and that it was Malaysia which was competing with the island republic, and not Penang,” said Goh in a statement.
Goh said by the same logic of Lim, then Lim-led State Government were also living in a different planet, because he and DAP other leaders like Jeff Ooi, Danny Law had always compared Penang with Singapore in terms of development to discredit the previous BN-led State Government.
“Is Lim saying Penang should not compete with Singapore for investments. What is his benchmark then?,” asked Goh.
Goh said Lim had the habit of making contradictions in his speeches, at his whims and fancies and to suit his own taste.
